Application area, M.Sc. Computer Science

Students in the master's program in computer science have to pass modules in an application area with a total of 18ECTS. Instead of modules in an application area, it is also possible to make an application to the examination committe to make an "Interdisciplinary project". In that case, the student has to visit a course in the field of the project and pass an exam or /homework in the course. 

Students in the master's program in applied computer science have the option to choose modules in an application area with a range of 6 or 12 ECTS
You can select modules out of the following application areas:

  • Bioinformatik
  • Kognitionswissenschaften
  • Mathematik
  • Medizin
  • Mikrosystemtechnik
  • Physik
  • Psychologie
  • Wirtschaftswissenschaften


The module needs are set in detail by the relevant Faculty. The individual modules in the different areas are included inthe curricula.

The registration to the exams of the individual modules of the application area goes through the online registration by thestudents. This excludes the application modules of the areas Psychology and Economics, you have to register them via the registration form.
