Grade calculation in the Master's Degree Programmes

The weighting of module grades in each programme is determined by the respective Degree Programme Regulations
Modules and parts of modules are graded as follows:

1.0, 1.3

sehr gut (very good)

Achievement is significantly above average

1.7/2.0/2.3

gut (good)

Achievement is above average

2.7/3.0/3.3

befriedigend (satisfactory)

Achievement is average

3.7/4.0

ausreichend (sufficient)

Achievement fulfils expectations despite deficiencies

5.0

nicht ausreichend (fail)

Achievement does not fulfil expectations due to significant deficiencies

The module grade is expressed only to the first place after the decimal. All further places after the decimal are dropped without rounding.
If a module has a final module exam, the grade of the final module exam is also the grade for this module.

If a module has exams for individual parts, the weighting of each of these exams in the module grade is defined in the respective Degree Programme Regulations. Each exam within a module must be graded as ‘ausreichend’ (4.0, sufficient) or better in order to pass.

Embedded Systems Egineering - Master of Science - PO-Version 2012

The overall module grade is the weighted average (weighted arithmetic average) of the module grades.  If all of the module grades are each 1,3 or better or is the total grade a 1,0, you will pass „with destinction“.

Informatik - Master of Science - PO-Version 2011

The overall module grade is the weighted average (weighted arithmetic average) of the module grades.  The grade of the thesis module is weighted with a factor of 2.
If all of the module grades are each 1,3 or better or is the total grade a 1,0, you will pass „with destinction“.

Microsystems Engineering / Mikrosystemtechnik - Master of Science - PO-Version 2009

The overall module grade is the weighted average (weighted arithmetic average) of the module grades.
If all of the module grades are each 1,3 or better or is the total grade a 1,0, you will pass „with destinction“.
