Grade improvement

Grade improvements in the Bachelor's Degree Programmes

In the bachelor ’s degree programmes, students have the opportunity to resit one module exam with the grade of ‘ausreichend’ (4.0, sufficient) or better in order to improve their grade. The regulation for resitting an exam for the purpose of improving a grade is restricted to the following rules and requirements:

  • Assessed coursework, such as presentations, papers and class minutes, cannot be improved
  • Examinations and assessed coursework for seminars, practicals, team projects and the master’s thesis cannot be improved
  • The number of modules you are allowed to improve is limited
  • The first exam must take place, at the latest, in the semester defined by the curriculum
  • The resit exam must take place at the next possible exam date, meaning in the following semester
  • You must register online for the resit exam

The better of the two grades counts.
