Repetition regulations

Repetition regulations in the Bachelor's Degree Programmes

In the Faculty of Engineering’s master’s degree programmes, students have the opportunity to resit one module exam with the grade of ‘nicht ausreichend’ (5.0, fail) at least once. Further regulations are defined below for the different degree programmes. The first resit exam must be taken at the latest before the end of the semester following the failed exam and normally takes place during the examination period of the following semester. If this deadline is missed, the opportunity to resit an exam expires unless the student can claim valid mitigating circumstances (for example due to illness).

If a student can not attend an exam due to illness, he or she will be registered for the next exam in theexamination period of the following semester.

Regulations regarding resit examinations by degree programme

BSc in Embedded Systems Engineering
Students are allowed to resit module exams that were graded as ‘nicht ausreichend’ (5.0, fail) once. Students are allowed to resit three module exams twice. Excluded from reassessment are the following modules: the bachelor’s thesis and the final colloquium, Foundation Seminars (Proseminare), System Design Project, ESE-Project, Chemical Lab, ESE-Lab, Technical Computer Science Lab and Computer Science Lab.
The first resit exam must take place in the following semester. Students are required to register for the resit exam with the Examinations Office.
A second resit exam must take place at the latest during the next possible exam date after the first resit exam.
