Embedded Systems Engineering

Are you interested in both technology and computer science? Do you want to design and build as well as program? Can you imagine working on the development of novel smartphones, intelligent implants, autonomous vehicles or smart home technologies? Then Embedded Systems Engineering is just the thing for you.

Systems that feel, think and act

Embedded Systems are so inconspicuous and self-evident in our daily lives that we no longer consciously perceive them in our environment. These systems fulfill such tasks as

  • "feeling" with sensors,
  • "thinking" through intelligent programming
  • "acting" using signals and actuators.

Consider airbags or spacers in the automotive industry. Whether in medical technology with novel prostheses, in telecommunications and entertainment technology with smart watches or in aerospace - embedded systems play a central role in the latest technological developments.

The connection between engineering and computer science

In our study program, you will learn the skills required to understand both the "language" of computer science and engineering and to develop and build highly specialized systems.

The benefits you will have as an Embedded Systems student:

  • Excellent student-teacher ratio with approx. 320 students to 25 professors
  • Interdisciplinary study program with a balanced mix of theory and practice
  • Lecture recordings: independent of time and place, you can thus repeat the material before an examination
  • Innovative teaching methods and modern equipment

After high school graduation – Our bachelor’s degree program

Master degree program

Doctoral / PhD Program and Postdoctoral / Habilitation Program
